Summer Camp
The Granite Theatre is excited to announce the return of their fully immersive summer camp! There will be two completely different sessions. Youth, ages 8 – 16, are welcomed to register for one or both weeks. These camps are specifically designed to introduce most all parts of theatre without focusing too much on any one thing. At the end of the sessions, we expect our campers to have a full understanding of what truly goes into putting on a show!
WEEK ONE:
MUSICAL THEATRE 101
AUGUST 14 to 8, 2023 from 9AM – 1PM
Showcase performance August 19 at 11AM
In Musical Theatre 101, campers will be able to take on another level of theatre by adding in music and dance. They will get plenty of performance training including Acting Through Song, Voice Master Classes, Private Voice Lessons, and Dance Training, but will also get the opportunity to choreograph, design and build costumes and props, work with and mix microphones, and try their hand at Stage Managing. Short performances will happen daily at pickup, culminating with a performance showcase at the end of the week.
WEEK TWO:
THEATRE 101
AUGUST 21st – 25th from 9AM – 1PM
Showcase performance August 26 at 11AM
In Theatre 101, campers will be able to experience an overview of a variety of aspects of theatre, not limited to acting. We’ll tackle Scene Study and Monologues as well as Stage Combat, Puppetry, Lighting Design, Sound Design, and Set Design. Short performances will happen daily at pickup, culminating with a performance showcase at the end of the week.
