The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later

Join the UNITED in partnership with the Granite Theatre and the Chorus of Westerly for a moving evening of remembrance, reflection, and resilience with a staged reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later featuring musical excerpts from the oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard.

In a rare and powerful collaboration, three of Westerly’s cornerstone arts institutions come together to present a reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, a searing follow-up to the groundbreaking original play that chronicles the lasting impact of Matthew Shepard’s story. Interwoven throughout the performance are live choral selections from Considering Matthew Shepard, a hauntingly beautiful oratorio that gives voice to grief, hope, and compassion.

This multidisciplinary event blends theatre and music to explore the legacy of a tragedy that sparked a national conversation—and continues to resonate today. One voice becomes many. Many voices become change.
