Miss Mona Stangley

(Alto, 35-45) Attractive, no-nonsense madam with a heart of gold. Sings beautifully and has a strong maternal presence.

Jewel

(Mezzo-Soprano, 35-60) The wise, sassy maid and cook at the Chicken Ranch. A fantastic torch singer who moves well.

Doatsey Mae

(Alto, 30-40) A waitress at the local diner who yearns for a different life.

Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd

(Baritone, 40-55) Charming, down-to-earth sheriff with a
gruff exterior. Longtime secret beau of Miss Mona

Angel

(Mezzo-Soprano, 22-30) One of the girls at the ranch. Street-smart,
tough, and dreams of a better life. Must be a strong dancer.

Governor

(Baritone, 40-55) A Texas politician who tries to sidestep a sticky
situation.

Melvin P. Thorpe

(Baritone, 40-55) A fanatical, self-righteous television
personality and revivalist preacher

Shy

(Mezzo-Soprano, 18-25) A new arrival at the Chicken Ranch. Innocent,
naive, and headstrong. Must be a strong dancer.

The Girls at the Chicken Ranch, Aggies, Angelettes: The cheerleading team,

Please request a date and hour long time slot. You will receive a confirmation email within a week of the audition date.

 

Please bring a headshot/recent picture and resume, if you have them available (a simple small, recent picture printed on regular paper with your resume is perfect)

Prepare approximately 30 seconds of any song you're comfortable singing acapella. Be prepared to move and/or read sides at the audition as well.


We are seeking a large, multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational (must be over 18) dynamic ensemble of singers and dancers, in addition to several principal roles.
